Distinguished Delegates!

It’s a great honour to welcome you on behalf of the President of The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ). I must pay tribute to those who decided to become a part of something greater by participating in this amazing event and with such wonderful people as the UN family.

Nowadays, our world is developing immensely. We have witnessed tremendous progress in many realms. Nevertheless, i have to remind you with deep regret that it’s only one side of the coin. Crimes against humanity still take place all over the world. Our Commission acts as the principal policymaking body of the UN in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. Human Trafficking is a global problem affecting people of all ages, especially when it comes to the Southeast Asia region. As a modern form of slavery, it undermines national security, distorts markets, and enriches transnational criminals and terrorists. Finally, human trafficking denigrates human rights. It denigrates our dignity. Our values.

There is no room for doubt: we will succeed together. Together with your warm hearts, with your razor-sharp minds, with your unconventional proposals. And I’m eager to see how beautiful and productive our work will be. United. For Better.

Yours sincerely,
President of the CCPCJ,
Zakhar Mamaev

Honourable Delegates,

I am immensely happy to welcome each of you on behalf of the Committee Co-President to MSUMUN 2024!

At the meetings of such an interesting and rarely modelled commission as the commission on crime prevention and criminal justice, we will dive into the little-covered, but extremely important for the Southeast Asian region and the world as a whole, issue of human trafficking as a modern form of slavery.

That is why we expect from our delegates a constructive discussion and, most importantly, a final document containing all possible solutions to this problem. We hope that each of you will be able not only to enjoy the modelling process, but also to make new friends. We wish you every success and look forward to seeing you at our model!

Sincerely,
Vice President of the CCPCJ,
Maria Semenova

Greetings to the distinguished delegates!

You are on the page of a difficult committee, both on the agenda and on its powers. The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice on the model of the UN MSU considers human trafficking in Southeast Asian countries, which is a non-standard agenda at least due to a lack of data.

The actions of the commission and the UN as a whole have been trying to resolve this issue for many years, but so far the actions have not led to drastic changes. I hope you will be able to change this, and I will help you as much as possible within the framework of the work of our committee!

See you at the interviews and in the walls of Moscow State University!

Yours faithfully,
CCPJ Expert,
Maria Tatsy
